A meeting of young patrons’ minds

artsScene Montreal has recently launched an initiative to collaborate in a series of meetings with Montreal’s various young patrons’ committees in art and culture. We can proudly claim that almost every Montreal cultural institution sees these types of committees as a must in terms of their future philanthropic activities. artsScene has notably brought together representatives from the young patrons committees of the Musée d’art contemporain, the Seagal Centre’s Young Leaders, Place des arts, the McCord Museum, the Opéra de Montréal, the Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal, and the Ballet Jazz de Montréal.

The purpose of these encounters is to provide a forum to discuss our respective projects, both the successes and the failures, to encourage the emergence and sharing of new ideas, and finally to coordinate our activities so as to not compete with each other for audiences, in order to best support the arts community.

Creating a hub and shared platform for all young cultural patrons is fully in tune with artsScene Montreal’s mission. As such, we are pleased to carry out this initiative of gatherings every trimester. Our hope is to encourage the emergence of a brand new generation of young patrons dedicated to arts and culture, full of creativity and fundraising know-how.
